The World Endeavors Summer Study in Northern Ireland, Queen’s University Belfast offers students the chance to take an intensive course in Irish studies at the prestigious and historic Queen’s University Belfast.

Students gain a richer, deeper understanding of Irish culture, particularly the unique atmosphere of Northern Ireland, while experiencing life in the fascinating city of Belfast. Outside the classroom, students have the opportunity to meet with representatives of Northern Ireland’s political parties, who help students learn more about the tumultuous history and current political issues of Northern Ireland.


About Belfast

The city of Belfast is set on the shores of Belfast Lough. Choosing to study abroad here offers you the perfect mix of cityscene and outdoor adventure. From Cathedral Quarter, which has the best restaurants, galleries and bars in the city, to St George’s Market, one of the best markets in the U.K. and filled with fantastic food stalls, this vibrant city offers you a wealth of choices.

  • World Endeavors study abroad participants should be 18 years or older (in most cases).
  • Have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the start of their program.
  • Keep in mind that all countries have different visa restrictions for varying types of passports.
  • Must have completed high school (or equivalent)
  • While some programs have minimum GPA requirements and require that applicants be currently enrolled in a college or university, others are open to all participants regardless of age or student status.

Furnished single student accommodations with self-catering options are available. Those who submit their applications promptly stand a good chance of securing a spot in a university residence hall, as priority is granted to international students during the allocation process. All university housing is conveniently located within walking distance of the primary campus. Students have the convenience of using kitchen facilities for meal preparation, and a variety of restaurants and cafés are situated in close proximity. Additionally, the university’s Student Union offers affordable dining choices for students.
