About Brno

Brno is the second-largest city in the Czech Republic and has the highest student population. Studying here will expose you to a large network of fellow students. Brno repeatedly makes it into the top ranks of the best student cities in the world,and you can fill your days with concerts, sports, theater and pub visits or picnics on Petrov Hill overlooking the city. With one of the best transport systems in the world, you’ll be able to get anywhere you need in Brno with ease.

Eligibility

World Endeavors study abroad participants should be 18 years or older (in most cases).
Have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the start of their program.
Keep in mind that all countries have different visa restrictions for varying types of passports.
Must have completed high school (or equivalent)
While some programs have minimum GPA requirements and require that applicants be currently enrolled in a college or university, others are open to all participants regardless of age or student status.

Housing

Housing for students is typically in fully furnished accommodations either on campus, or close by, or with a host family. Usually this accommodation is shared with other international and local students, with shared bathrooms and communal living areas.

Are the courses in Czech Republic taught in English?

Yes, there is a wide choice of study programmes and courses taught in English.

Do most people in Czech Republic speak/understand English?

In the major cities like Prague and Brno, most locals will be able to understand and respond in English, but if you venture into the outlying areas and smaller towns, you’ll find that most locals there don’t speak English. (All the more reason to learn a smattering of Czech!)

Will there be other World Endeavours participants at my destination?

Depending on the program you choose and the time of year you participate, you will most likely meet other WE participants while abroad, although in some cases, you may be the only WE participant for part or all of your program. Summer projects in popular destinations make it very likely that you will have several other WE participants at your site. We seek to offer programs that are culturally immersive, and we have designed them to offer multiple opportunities for you to meet locals as well as other visitors. If you wish to engage in a program where you will be with other WE participants or if you would prefer a more culturally immersive setting, contact our staff with your questions, and we will do our best to accommodate.
