Overview of Study Abroad Programs in Indonesia

Bali, a province of Indonesia, and the westernmost of the Lesser Sunda Islands, offers you the opportunity to study abroad in a tropical paradise, surrounded by surfing beaches, lush mountains and verdant rice paddies. Immerse yourself in the supportive learning environment offered by Bali’s educational institutions, and grow your global network while you diversify your skills.

Renowned for its diverse and developed art forms, like painting, sculpture, woodcrafts and performing arts, the Balinese culture will charm you with its creativity and the many festivals on the traditional Hindu calendar.

Bali is in a highly biodiverse marine area, where fish and turtles and over 500 reef-building coral species are found. Make the most of this by snorkeling with sea turtles, dolphin-watching or doing a beginner’s course in diving. With several local artisans recycling fishing nets and ocean plastic to create manmade fabrics, Bali rates sustainability highly.

Daily immersion in this laidback, gentle culture means that your study abroad time will be nurturing and growthful. Learn from local experts both in and out of the classroom while you hone your work skills. Develop your intercultural competencies by spending time with Balinese locals and learning about their ancient culture.

Deepen your knowledge of the Hindu religion, Balinese temples and the importance of local sacred rituals on this ‘Island of the Gods’. Witness one of the many celebrations held in Bali, several of which call for a boisterous atmosphere with lots of activity, movement and color, creating a rich sensory experience for the audience.

Here are just a few of the best things about studying in Indonesia:

  • Soak up the warm Indonesian hospitality and immerse yourself in Balinese daily life
  • Climb Mount Batur at sunrise for a once-in-a-lifetime experience
  • Expand your global network by making lifelong connections with fellow international and local students
  • Grow your linguistic skills by learning the basics of the Balinese language with the help of the friendly locals
