Overview of Study Abroad Programs in Argentina

Although Argentina, the second-largest country in South America, has its roots in Spanish colonization, it is a multicultural country with European, Russian and indigenous influences. Choosing to study in Argentina will expose you to a variety of cultures and will broaden your perspective as a global citizen.

Home to world class universities yet with relatively low tuition fees, Argentina will give you the opportunity to learn from experts in their field while broadening your intercultural and linguistic skills. Make connections with fellow international and local students and grow your global network.

When not in class, you can explore this vast country: discover the glaciers, lakes and mountains of Patagonia in the south, or the Iguazu Falls, a breathtaking collection of over 250 waterfalls. Wherever you choose to explore in Argentina, you will leave with an altered worldview.

As tourism in Argentina is still relatively new, you will find locals curious about and welcoming of visitors to their beautiful country. You may arrive a stranger, but you will leave a friend. As you grow your global network and intercultural competency, take time to sample the authentic taste of Argentine cuisine, with empanadas (small savory pies) and asado (barbeque), washed down with a glass of world-renowned Argentinian wine.

Immerse yourself in the wide spectrum of culture on offer, from visiting a tango milonga, exploring the Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires or enjoying one of the many festivals that bring people together in celebration of all sorts, from folklore to chocolate and music.

Here are just a few of the best things about studying in Argentina:

  • Immerse yourself in Argentinian time and absorb the relaxed way of life
  • Work on your Castellano Spanish while chatting to locals
  • Experience life in this vibrant country and develop an altered world view
  • Boost your resume with the development of your intercultural and linguistic skills
