Overview of Volunteer Programs in Argentina

The World Endeavors Volunteer in Argentina program takes place in and around the city of Buenos Aires. Argentina’s beautiful geography, colorful history, and welcoming people make this country a top destination for international volunteers. Home to several globally recognized geographic wonders—from Patagonia to Iguazu Falls—Argentina is sure to provide adventure to all its visitors. Yet its landscape pales in comparison with Argentina’s rich culture; here, Amerindian traditions meld with European influence to create a truly unique atmosphere with passionate and engaged citizens.

Yet even with its natural beauty and amazing people, Argentina faces problems affecting many Latin American countries. The fluctuating economy has left many Argentines in poverty, while the delicate, diverse landscapes are persistently battling the effects of climate change. World Endeavors volunteers in Argentina have the opportunity to work directly with these issues while also experiencing all that the culture has to offer.

About Buenos Aires

In the far corner of South America rests Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina. This city is known as the most European city in South America, but is dancing with Latin flair. Although the city was shaped by European immigrants centuries ago, the culture of the city has taken a shape of its own. Artists cover drab walls with splashes of bright pastels, which are particularly prominent in the La Boca neighborhood. Even the presidential palace, aptly named la Casa Rosada, boasts a bright rose color from top to bottom.
