ABOUT ENGINEERING INTERNSHIPS ABROAD
World Endeavors Engineering interns work in fields such as civil, mechanical, and electrical engineering learning how to meet the challenges of different environments and cultures. Interns may learn about the design, construction, and inspection phases of public or private projects. Some interns work on infrastructure projects such as roads, railways, and water supply. Others assist with materials testing and research or with preparing and modifying plans for private homes and housing developments. Engineering interns may also conduct research and provide general administrative support.
IN THE SPOTLIGHT: ENGINEERING ABROAD
The laws of physics are universal, but the challenges of engineering vary from place to place. An international experience in this field gives interns the chance to learn how professional engineers meet the needs of particular countries, communities, and projects. International Engineering interns learn to solve problems and adapt to unfamiliar circumstances while gaining professional experience in subfields such as mechanical, civil, environmental, industrial, or software engineering.
Engineering interns need to be organized and self-motivated and must also have good communication skills. It is important that interns be prepared to adapt to the living conditions and professional practices of a new country. Flexibility is also important for international engineering interns whose responsibilities may include a variety of different projects, depending on their specific placement and the needs of their employer.
