Where did you intern in Ireland?

For my internship, I was at an English language school offering certification and language courses. My role was to work at reception and help the students in various ways. My role was also that of a social media content creator, meaning I had to go on field trips, hang out with the students, take photos, and create videos or posters for the school’s Instagram page. It was a very dynamic internship that allowed me to interact with a wide range of people, both my age and older.

What motivated you to choose this communications internship abroad?

The main reason I chose this internship was that it puts you in contact with many people and therefore allows you to create new relationships and learn the English language well. It’s also a challenge to put yourself to the test and push your limits.

What were your main tasks as a communications intern in Ireland?

I had to support the kids and students, as well as the school team with social media and bureaucratic matters. I prepared the documents the students needed to stay at the school, and I managed their transportation passes and other essentials for their stay in Dublin.

Do you have any favorite memories from your time in Ireland?

My favorite part was when I went out, wandering around the city, alone or with friends, to take photos and discover non-touristy places. This allowed me to experience Dublin as a real local and not just as a “tourist.”

What practical experience did you gain as an intern that you can take with you into the future?

I learned so much while living in Dublin, both personally and professionally.

I discovered how the world of work works abroad, which is very different from Italy. I was open to new experiences and expanded my knowledge, both personally and culturally. I met people from all over the world and thus was able to discover other new cultures through them.

I’ve realized that I also really enjoy the field of marketing and advertising, and this has greatly influenced my choice of future master’s degree after three years of studying psychology.
