The Summer Study Abroad Program at the University of Limerick offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in Irish culture. Each student takes one intensive, advanced course in Irish studies, education and health sciences, law, or STEM research. While studying, students experience Irish culture first-hand in Limerick, a classic Irish city and a world-class university town.

Location
Limerick is a true gem of the Emerald Isle where Ireland’s heritage and future meet. The twelfth-century St. Mary’s Cathedral and King John’s Castle can be found here, attesting to Limerick’s rich medieval history. Meanwhile, art museums, galleries, and theaters celebrate Irish art of the more recent past and the present. It’s easy to find a pub where students and local residents gather to watch football matches, while trendy restaurants serve Irish and international cuisine. Housing
Participants stay in on-campus housing at the University of Limerick. Each student has a single bedroom in a shared student apartment. Apartments include a shared living area, kitchen, and lounge with a television. Three meals per day are also provided with the program.

Academics
Students take one course on a full-time basis for the three-week session. Each class is worth three credits. Participants may choose one course from the list of available courses for their session.
Upon successful completion of the program, credits and transcripts are issued by the University of Limerick, which is accredited by the Irish Department of Education.
The World Endeavors process is designed to take the guesswork out of academic credit and credit transfers. Our experienced advisors work with each student and his or her academic advisor before the program begins to ensure students earn the credit expected for courses taken abroad.
Eligibility
Applicants to study abroad with World Endeavors must have completed high school (or equivalent), and, in most cases, must be at least 18 years of age. While some programs have minimum GPA requirements and require that applicants be currently enrolled in a college or university, others are open to all participants regardless of age or student status.
