Malawians are thrilled by visitors and are always willing to share stories of life and love with anyone who will listen. This is only one of the many things that draw people to this humble country on the shores of the breathtaking Lake Malawi, as natural wonders abound in this land. The lake is the centerpiece of the country; visitors will find peace and relaxation on any of its quiet, idyllic sandy beaches lined with baobab and fragrant mango trees. Visitors will often find themselves invited to kick back on the beach with the locals, crack open a cold drink, and watch an unforgettably picturesque sunset on the lake. Many chic eco-lodges offer spectacular beachfront views to guests. Safaris are a popular pastime in the rolling hinterlands of the country, where classic safari fauna like hippos, rhinos, and African elephants roam free.
