What to expect in Ecuador

In this land where the number of hours of sunlight per day is nearly constant throughout the year, much of this tropical country is still remote and undeveloped. Ecuador’s urban centers are rich in culture, and the country’s natural landscape is among the most diverse on the planet thanks to the Andes Mountains, the Pacific coast, and the famed Galápagos Islands just a 600 mile leap to the west.

Popular fields include environmental conservation, where interns engage in projects such as animal rehabilitation and habitat preservation. Media studies internships are also prevalent, providing hands-on experience in radio, television, and digital media platforms. These internships are primarily based in Quito and are designed to provide meaningful, real-world experience tailored to each participant’s interests and academic background.

What are the eligibility requirements for interning in Ecuador?

To intern in Ecuador with World Endeavors, you must be at least 18 years old and possess a passport valid for at least six months beyond your program’s start date. For personalized guidance or to confirm your eligibility, you can contact us directly to assist you with your program selection and application process.

Will I get paid as an intern in Ecuador?

This timeframe allows for visa processing (if necessary), placement coordination, and travel arrangements. Applications are accepted up to a year in advance, and early submission is encouraged due to limited placement availability. While last-minute placements may be possible in some cases, applying early increases the likelihood of securing your desired internship.
