The World Endeavors Summer Study – Edge Hill University program offers students the opportunity to learn and experience the culture and history of the UK in an idyllic location. Students spend four weeks of the program studying their choice of courses, with the final week spent on a cultural exploration of London. And after completing the program, it’s easy to take time for travel.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Students are drawn to Edge Hill University for its fantastic location, close to the famous cities of Liverpool and Manchester, as well as the old seaside resort of Blackpool in the North West of England. It is a great base for those who want to experience English life outside of London and see a unique and beautiful part of the country. But the location is just part of what the World Endeavors Summer Study in England program has to offer. Students choose this program for the opportunity to study under highly-regarded researchers and instructors, see their field of study from a new perspective, and have a wide range of classes available to them all taught in English. In any study abroad program, the most successful students are open-minded and excited about experiencing a new culture and lifestyle.

The World Endeavors Summer Study in England program takes place on a vibrant campus on 160 picturesque acres near Ormskirk in West Lancashire. Ormskirk is a picture-perfect example of a charming English town—cobbled streets, centuries-old architecture, traditional English gardens, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The people here are friendly and are always willing to welcome visitors. Ormskirk is an ideal location for students wanting to experience the slower pace of life in a British market town while being close to the vibrant, metropolitan cities of Manchester and Liverpool. The countryside in the northwest of England is beautiful with the famously scenic Lake District nearby. Trains and buses connect Ormskirk to London and the rest of Great Britain, making it easy for students to get out and explore.
“I gained so much from living in London this past summer. I traveled to 8 major cities, met so many new friends from all over the world, and had a wonderful internship experience. I had the time of my life!”
- Savannah, Intern in England
