The World Endeavors Summer Study – Edge Hill University program offers students the opportunity to learn and experience the culture and history of the UK in an idyllic location. Students spend four weeks of the program studying their choice of courses, with the final week spent on a cultural exploration of London. And after completing the program, it’s easy to take time for travel.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
Students are drawn to Edge Hill University for its fantastic location, close to the famous cities of Liverpool and Manchester, as well as the old seaside resort of Blackpool in the North West of England. It is a great base for those who want to experience English life outside of London and see a unique and beautiful part of the country. But the location is just part of what the World Endeavors Summer Study in England program has to offer. Students choose this program for the opportunity to study under highly-regarded researchers and instructors, see their field of study from a new perspective, and have a wide range of classes available to them all taught in English. - Have a minimum GPA of 2.75 (or equivalent) Please note that all applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis and circumstances which may have affected a student’s GPA will be taken into account.
- You must have completed your first year of university.
Location
The World Endeavors Summer Study in England program takes place on a vibrant campus on 160 picturesque acres near Ormskirk in West Lancashire. Ormskirk is a picture-perfect example of a charming English town—cobbled streets, centuries-old architecture, traditional English gardens, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The people here are friendly and are always willing to welcome visitors. Ormskirk is an ideal location for students wanting to experience the slower pace of life in a British market town while being close to the vibrant, metropolitan cities of Manchester and Liverpool. The countryside in the northwest of England is beautiful with the famously scenic Lake District nearby. Trains and buses connect Ormskirk to London and the rest of Great Britain, making it easy for students to get out and explore.
Housing
Each student is accommodated in a single, en-suite room in a campus residence hall which has been recently renovated. The rooms include a single bed, desk and chair, with a wardrobe, drawers, bedside storage and a mini fridge. Each room also has a flatscreen tv and free wifi access. Breakfast and dinner are included for the first four weeks of the program.

Academic
Students study a core module, British Culture & Heritage, in addition to one optional module. At the end of the Summer Program, students will receive 4-6 US credits.
The World Endeavors process is designed to take the guesswork out of academic credit and credit transfers. Our experienced advisors work with each student and his or her academic advisor before the program begins to ensure students earn the credit expected for courses taken abroad.

Applicants to this program must have:
- A GPA of at least 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Fluency in English
Course Load
Students take 1 or 2 courses during this 4 week summer session. Some of the course options are 4 weeks long and in that case, you would just take 1 course. Other courses are just 2 weeks long, so then you would choose 2 courses.
