Environmental Conservation Volunteer Projects

World Endeavors Environmental Conservation volunteer programs match participants with local organizations that support biodiversity and the preservation of natural resources. These projects can include both hands-on conservation work and community outreach. Past volunteers working on environmental conservation projects have planted trees with local community members to prevent erosion, built trails and made signs for national parks, supported community recycling efforts, and assisted with research projects that aim to protect and preserve the local environment.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION VOLUNTEER PROJECT

Volunteers on environmental conservation projects do hands-on work which has a direct impact on the preservation of environments around the world. These projects help to improve the health and economic well-being of host communities. In addition, conservation projects have a global impact as volunteers often work on issues with international implications.

HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS

A World Endeavors volunteer project in environmental conservation is a great fit for participants who are passionate about protecting the natural world, particularly in developing countries. Volunteers who are curious about biodiversity and sustainable practices find these projects both educational and inspiring. Participants at all levels of experience can contribute valuable help to a project, but the most important qualification is that volunteers are willing to get their hands dirty and spend time outdoors.

Ecuador Environmental Conservation – Cloud Forest Nature Reserve

Living on the reserve are 287 species of birds, 40 species of mammals, and 63 genera of butterflies. Our work focuses on protecting existing forests through reforestation, monitoring human activity and its impact, and conducting environmental education.
