Winter sessions at Freie Universität Berlin present an opportunity for students with an open January term to gain international experience between university semesters. Each student enrolls in one intensive German language course or a subject class taught in English. For three weeks, participants will study and live in the German capital of Berlin, an eclectic and exciting European city.

Berlin is a fascinating metropolis offering students an abundance of opportunities to get out and explore not only the city, but Germany as a whole. “What I remember most vividly about Germany is the gorgeous natural scenery and buildings, the sound of church bells and town clocks, and connecting with Germans through a common enjoyment of watching World Cup soccer. The amazing food and wine, strikingly beautiful towns, rivers, mountains, and forests, and friendly people make Germany a great place to visit!”
- Shannon, Operations Assistant
Students enroll in one intensive language or culture course on a full-time basis for the three-week session. Language courses meet for a total of 72 contact hours, while subject classes meet for 48 contact hours during the three-week period.
The World Endeavors process is designed to take the guesswork out of academic credit and credit transfers. Our experienced advisors work with each student and his or her academic advisor before the program begins to ensure students earn the credit expected for courses taken abroad.
