The World Endeavors Summer Study in England – Middlesex University program offers a variety of courses in the summer, giving students the chance to focus intensively on one subject for three or five weeks. At the same time, students experience the lively social and cultural life of London in the summertime. A wealth of outdoor concerts, arts festivals, open-air film screenings, and athletic events make summer a great time to be in London. And after completing the program, it’s easy to take time for travel.

Many students are drawn to the opportunity to live and study in London because of its dynamic, cosmopolitan character and ideal starting point for exploring the UK and Europe. But the location is just part of what the World Endeavors Summer Study in England program has to offer. Students choose this program for the opportunity to study under highly-regarded researchers and instructors, see their field of study from a new perspective, and have a wide range of classes available to them all taught in English. In any study abroad program, the most successful students are open-minded and excited about experiencing a new culture and lifestyle.

London hasn’t stopped growing since the Romans founded it as a small settlement on the River Thames. Students flock here every year to delve deeper into their studies, make friends from around the world, and experience life in one of the world’s greatest cities. The eclectic mix of cultures in London makes it easy for newcomers to fit in, but there’s no question that this city retains a personality all its own. In the city’s financial district, known officially as the City of London, major international business is conducted while shoppers chase down the latest trends on Oxford Street, the Globe Theatre brings to life performances from Shakespeare’s day, and tourists snap pictures of Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, and Buckingham Palace. There’s enough in London to keep anyone busy for a lifetime, but it’s also the ideal home base for trips to the English countryside, Scotland, Wales, and continental Europe.
