The World Endeavors Study in Italy program takes place at the Istituto Europeo in Florence. Studying abroad at the Istituto Europeo in Florence gives students the chance to live like locals in one of the world’s most famous and beautiful cities. Located in the heart of Florence, the Istituto Europeo is dedicated to teaching the Italian language to students from all over the world. Students in this program become immersed in the Italian language both in class and in daily life and receive personal attention and support from the Istituto Europeo instructors. In addition to language classes, this university offers courses in Italian history, culture, business, and more, and students have access to a variety of courses through the Florence University of the Arts. Studying here is a truly immersive experience that leaves students with a deep understanding of Italian life and a new perspective on the world.

The World Endeavors program at the Istituto Europeo is a good fit for students who want to be immersed in the Italian language and culture. It’s an ideal program for students interested in Italian art since the art history in Florence is richer than perhaps anywhere else in the world. Florence’s central location makes it a perfect starting place for travel around Italy.

It’s hard to imagine a better place to study Italian than in Florence as it is the birthplace of the modern Italian language. It’s also an artistic jewel box, boasting Michelangelo’s David, magnificent paintings by Botticelli and Raphael, and an abundance of gorgeous Renaissance architecture. That artistic tradition continues to this day: it’s common to see painters on street corners and hear live music emanating from the city’s beautiful churches. Students will find Florence a fascinating and rewarding place to study with a city center that’s easy to navigate on foot, the sun-drenched Tuscan countryside surrounding the city on all sides, and the rest of Italy just beyond, ready to be explored.

Jillian is from Chicago and studied Global Studies and Biblical & Theological Studies in college. She studied abroad in Angers, France with World Endeavors.
