An assortment of museums showcase several centuries’ worth of local art. The city is small enough that students find it easy to get around on foot, and it’s large enough that students can easily find all their necessities.

Housing

Students stay with local French families, a fantastic opportunity to be immersed in the local culture and use French in everyday life. All accommodations are within walking distance of campus or of public transportation. Meals are not included in the program fee, but students can take advantage of the on-campus dining hall which offers meals for about 3.00 Euros. Other housing accommodations may be available for an additional fee—please contact World Endeavors for more information.

Summer Programs

The summer program is an intensive language, grammar, and comprehension course. There are two month-long summer sessions in July and August. Students may choose to attend one or both sessions. No prior experience with the French language is required.

After a placement test to determine language level, students begin language courses. These focus on written and oral French (both comprehension and speaking) as well as understanding the language, including phonetics, grammar and vocabulary. The courses are supplemented with work in small groups for speaking practice and independent work with personalized tutoring.

In addition to classroom study, cultural activities and excursions will play an important part in summer courses.

Margaux QInternship in France

I highly recommend WE! The placement has lead me to have a amazing experience.

Caitlin GIntern in France

I cannot say enough good about my experience in Nice, France. I was given the opportunity to take two weeks of French classes (which only took up about half the day, so I had free afternoons to explore the area) and then intern for 8 weeks with an organization in Villefranche. I was incredibly lucky. I was supported by the local staff in France and World Endeavors, but also welcomed with open arms by the president of the Association who not only helped me with professional tasks, but toured me around the area and even invited me to dinner for a home-cooked meal. My host mom also invited me to the theater with her and in lieu of making friends through the school since I was only there for 2 weeks, I actually made some friends through Bumble BFF! Overall, I wouldn't change a single thing about this experience. Despite some days being harder than others, it was so unbelievably worth it. I can't believe it was real!

Caroline FIntern in France

I learned a lot about how social work functions in France. I gained personal experience working with a non profit organization that helps low income people obtain housing. I wanted to learn more about the subject as a whole, work with people, and improve my French and I did all three of those things.

Jillian MStudy Abroad in France

I realized once I got back that I learned more than I thought I did—not that I didn’t think I learned a lot, already. Three of my goals were to make more international friends (check), amp up my French comprehension (check), and expand my worldview (check).
