Our internship is the ideal option for our students who want to simultaneously improve their future career prospects by gaining valuable experience to include on their resume, and also increase their English language fluency. This program combines a minimum of four weeks language study with a guaranteed internship of eight to twelve weeks with real, hands-on work experience.

Location

Ireland’s scenic natural beauty and historic past make it one of the most enchanting and memorable countries in Western Europe. World Endeavors internship placements are located in Dublin. Located near the middle of Ireland’s east coast, Dublin is a historical and contemporary cultural center for Ireland, as well as the current center of education, the arts, economy, and industry. There is something for everyone in Dublin.

Dates & Costs

Students must take a minimum of 4 weeks English language classes at the Emerald Cultural Institute, followed by an internship of between 8 and 12 weeks. The program has rolling start dates throughout the year, and applications are accepted anytime, to accommodate with your schedule.

Eligibility

Students are recommended to have a minimum level of Upper-intermediate (CEFR B2) to join this program and to be able to use English in a professional environment.

​​The Emerald Cultural Institute requires 8 weeks notice prior to the commencement of the internship and availability of placements may vary according to the sectors.

The company will decide on the work schedule of students, which could involve weekends and evenings in certain sectors.

Students are required to indicate 3 different areas they would be interested in, taking into account their education, training and future career path.

We provide course participants with a range of of internship possibilities, including placements in the following sectors: Financial services, IT, Marketing, Hospitality, Food, Travel, Fashion, Retail, Media, Arts, PR, Advertising, Event Planning, Politics, Law and NGOs.

World Endeavors interns should be 18 years or older and should have a passport valid for at least 6 months from the start of their program.
Keep in mind that all countries have different visa restrictions for varying types of passports.

It is recommended to have a background in your desired internship field, but it is not absolutely required. Internship placement opportunities increase with experience or relevant coursework.

Accommodation options are available in either a home stay or student residence for the duration of both the course and internship.

African Big 5 Volunteering Project in South Africa

Join World Endeavors’ most popular volunteer project, the African Big 5 Wildlife Conservation Project. Situated in the Greater Kruger Area, you’ll assist our expert field guides and research team in various exciting capacities. Each day you’ll venture into the reserve on safari drives to monitor elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos, buffalos, and countless other species. At night, you’ll experience the magic of the bush after dark, joining night drives to study nocturnal wildlife and gain a deeper understanding of the ecosystem’s hidden rhythms.

Location

The Greater Kruger Area encompasses over 20 private wildlife reserves on the west side of the world-renowned Kruger National Park in South Africa. These private reserves come together to create one big reserve. Kruger National Park is a significant contribution to wildlife conservation efforts, helping to protect and preserve one of the world’s last remaining wildlife strongholds.

We are offering durations of 2, 3, and 4 weeks, with 3 separate intakes for the 2026 summer session for UCSC volunteers.

Housing

Nestled in the heart of the African wilderness, your home during the program will be in the Mtimkulu Private Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger area. Accommodation will be a mix of spacious tented rooms and shared dorms, all designed to offer a true and authentic bush experience.

This base is set up as a research camp, making it not only a comfortable place to live but also a hub of learning and exploration. Facilities include shared bathrooms with toilets and showers, a welcoming outdoor fire pit for braais (BBQs), relaxed social spaces, and a lively communal dining area.

Meals are included from Monday to Sunday. There is free WiFi to enable you to stay connected. Cellular signal strength can vary, and if volunteers plan to purchase a local SIM card, MTN is the recommended provider in this region.

Volunteers in Bangkok live with local host families in shared or single rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen facilities. Housing is located in close proximity to public transportation, which, in Bangkok, includes buses, subways, boats, and even an elevated Skytrain. Two meals per day are included with the host family, and WiFi is also included.

Childcare & Teaching

Live the tropical island dream while volunteering with children, teaching English, and using your skills to contribute to community development on the island of Zanzibar in Tanzania.

Due to its beauty and appeal, this region is dependent on income from tourism, with many tourists flocking to this stunning island each year. As such, many local people rely on jobs in the tourism sector; in hotels, lodges, restaurants, and tour companies. Yet, Tanzania’s national level of English proficiency is very low and many adults struggle to access these types of jobs due to their poor literacy rate and inability to interact with tourists.

As a volunteer in Jambiani, you’ll be integral in helping local people find employment. You’ll have the opportunity to teach at local schools, women’s groups, and the African Impact Education Centre which offers free English lessons to adults.

In Chukwani, you will help teachers in primary and secondary schools, mostly located outside the city, supporting lessons in subjects such as English, Math, and Science. Your role will include engaging students aged 5 to 14 through fun and interactive activities. In addition, you will participate in evening teaching sessions at a community center, working with students aged 4 to 20 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday evenings.

Dolphin & Marine Wildlife Conservation Volunteer Program

About an hour’s drive from Stone Town of Zanzibar, Jambiani is a long village stretched along the coastline, with stunning and long white-sand beaches where it will seem like you can walk forever. Here you will find a community operating at a leisurely pace amidst the sunny, tropical climate. You will witness incredible sunrises and enjoy the warm waters, but more importantly, gain a deep insight into life on the island and an array of experiences you will treasure for a long time.

Chukwani is a tranquil and charming part of Zanzibar, located just a short drive from the bustling Stone Town. This area combines the island’s natural beauty with an authentic, relaxed atmosphere, far from the typical tourist crowds. Its white sandy beaches and turquoise waters make it the perfect place to unwind, enjoy water sports, or simply soak in the magic of a tropical paradise.

Housing

Volunteers in Jambiani will stay at a modern beachfront property, just a 1.5-hour drive from the airport. You’ll be staying in secure, gender-specific rooms with up to four people per room. Each room includes bunk beds, a private bathroom, linens, mosquito nets, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning, ensuring a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Your accommodation comes with free Wi-Fi, making it easy to stay connected. The connection can be slow and unreliable at times, so please be flexible and patient with this. For those who want extra data or local calls, SIM cards are widely available in most shops, with a variety of packages to choose from.

Meals are included from Monday through Friday, giving you the chance to enjoy delicious dishes prepared on-site. On weekends, you’ll have the opportunity to explore vibrant local markets and restaurants. Once a week you can join a local family for an evening meal to experience authentic Zanzibari home cooking.

In Chukwani, you’ll be staying in a comfortable guesthouse. The building features multiple shared bedrooms accommodating 2 to 8 participants, all single-gender and lockable, as well as shared bathrooms. Bed linen is provided. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a sitting room where you can relax and enjoy the company of other volunteers. All meals are included during your stay, and clean drinking water is provided, with additional beverages available. Once per week, all participants come together to create the weekly food plan, giving everyone the opportunity to contribute and immerse themselves in local culinary traditions.

Laundry services are available at an extra cost. Please note that Wi-Fi is not provided at the guesthouse, but local SIM cards can be purchased nearby for internet access.

As a volunteer, you will assist local teachers by sharing your knowledge of English and other subjects with students in rural Kenya. You will work in community schools or child development centers, engaging students through creative teaching methods, activities, and interactive lessons. Beyond academic support, you will help with daily hygiene routines, facilitate songs, storytelling, games, and arts and crafts, and run day-camp style programs during school breaks that include English lessons and sports activities.

As a volunteer, you may participate in wildlife conservation at a local conservancy in Nakuru, contributing to the protection of species such as Rothschild giraffes, birds, and Colobus monkeys. Your activities will include tracking and observing endangered giraffes, participating in ecological monitoring, and supporting habitat restoration through tree planting and nursery management.

The local community, rich in traditions and cultural vibrancy, welcomes visitors with lively markets, music, and traditional dishes. For volunteers, Nakuru provides a special opportunity to experience daily life up close while contributing to meaningful community projects.

Dates & Costs

The World Endeavors Volunteer in Kenya programs begin on Sundays and end on Saturdays. We are offering durations of 2, 3, and 4 weeks, with 3 separate intakes for the 2026 summer session for UCSC volunteers:

  • Intake 1: 12 July, 2026
  • Intake 2: 26 July, 2026
  • Intake 3: 9 August, 2026

Housing

Your accommodations in Nakuru include four units, each with three spacious bedrooms furnished with comfortable double beds, accommodating 2 to 4 people per room. Cleanliness and hygiene are a priority, and each room has its own bathroom and toilet. Meals are provided, with three meals on weekdays and two on weekends, primarily featuring Kenyan cuisine. You will enjoy a variety of vegetables, potatoes, eggs, bread, and pancakes (chapati), accompanied by fresh fruits such as oranges, bananas, and avocados. Rooms are cleaned on weekends, and participants are expected to take responsibility for cleaning up after themselves and keeping the accommodations tidy and organized.
