So you want to make a difference–help people in need, empower local communities–but in our increasingly complex world, it’s hard to know where to start. That’s why we partner with organizations that are already making an impact. If you are a volunteer who wants to contribute hands-on work to some of the world’s toughest problems, read on!

Teaching in Ghana– What better way to give back than through teaching? Located in Kumasi, the center of Ashanti culture, this is a great program for students who plan on being teachers, but we get just as many successful volunteers without an education degree focus. Teaching experience is relevant to any career–not to mention fun and transformative! For its safety, street festivals, and delicious food, Ghana is a popular destination for travelers looking for a meaningful experience abroad, and you’re bound to make good friends along the way.

Women’s Development in Tanzania – Numerous studies show that the quickest way to empowering local communities is through empowering women. Our Women’s Development project in Arusha puts you to work with a local non-profit that organizes handcraft projects for Maasai women. The Project supports families and whole villages by helping women use their existing skills and resources to participate in the global economy. Nestled in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, participants often schedule time around their volunteer placement to explore the immense natural beauty of southwestern Africa.
