Blog Post #6 – Final Update

And just like that, my time in Thailand is over. This experience has been the most rewarding and challenging thing I have accomplished thus far in my life, and I cannot wait to use the skills and knowledge I have obtained into my daily life back in Minnesota and in graduate school. The relationships I formed were some of the hardest to say goodbye to, and I will forever cherish the memories I made with everyone.

I cannot thank my host family, coworkers and mentors enough for all they have done for me. The transition into a new culture was tough, but they made it smoother and comfortable. They took me in as their own and offered me their knowledge, home and experiences to better my own. They say studying abroad changes you, and I never fully believed that until I had to leave. Although my time was short, I definitely found what I was looking for. I cannot wait to return some day.

Transitioning back home in Minnesota wasn’t as tough as I thought it was going to be. It was bitter sweet being back, as I was sad to leave yet happy to be in my own home. Although the weather here hasn’t been the best, I missed the unexpected and constantly changing MN weather.

The next phase of my life consists of getting ready for graduate school and working! Prior to that however I am taking time to relax, enjoy my time home, and visit family and friends. I still continue to reflect on my time in Thailand, and love looking back at pictures and videos. To anyone wondering if they want to study or intern abroad, just do it! You won’t regret it.

Thank you to all who have taken the time to read my blogs and follow along throughout my time in Thailand. Until next time!
