Caitlin: Program Reflection

The time I have spent in Australia will not be forgotten. These past three months flew by, and I have had the chance to see so many things, have experiences I never thought I would, and gain more skills through my internship that I will now be able to use back home as I begin my new career. I have made new friends from all over the world who will be forever friends. I have gained confidence in myself and my abilities during my time here, which I know will stay with me as I transition back home. I will miss the culture, the atmosphere of Sydney, the friendships I have made, and the work I have done here. Australia has been my home away from home, and I look forward to coming back one day, hopefully in the near future!

“I urge you to travel. As far and as much as possible. Work ridiculous shifts to save your money. GO without the latest iPhone. Throw yourself out of your comfort zone. Find out how other people live and realize that the world is a much bigger place than the town you live in. And when you come home, home may still be the same, and yes, you may go back to the same old job, but somethings in your mind will have changed. And trust me, that changes everything.”

World Endeavors believes that international travel has the power to change lives, broaden horizons, and deepen intercultural understanding. The world is undergoing rapid changes, with societies becoming more interconnected and environmentally aware; at the same time a more challenging global economy inspires in many a need to reach out and make a positive difference while seeking personal growth opportunities. There has never been a better time than now to travel abroad.
