Caitlin- Review of the Assassins
While in Sydney, you can’t miss the chance to see a show at the famous Sydney Opera House! If you’re like me and not really into operas, don’t worry, there are a lot of other shows to choose from! The Sydney Opera House offers a variety from operas, musicals, plays, dance, magic, and more. I chose to see a musical called the Assassins.
The Assassins is about all the people who have assassinated United States presidents. They time travel to be with each other and form a group to support and encourage each other to have their right to be happy by assassinating a president. The musical recounts the feelings of each assassin, their motives, and the overall story behind their actions in a fun, compelling way that holds your attention all the way through.
Every actor and actress in this show was extremely talented, as was the choreography, music, and overall stage presence. I liked how the writers took such tragedy and made it into a musical that was enjoyable and humorous. Every actor/actress truly took on their role and became their character, bringing a lot of emotion to the stage.
If you ever have a chance to see this show, I highly recommend it!
