My name is Caitlin and I am a traveler at heart! I was born and raised in Williamsport, PA and just recently graduated from Misericordia University in Dallas, PA with my bachelors of science in health science, masters of science in occupational therapy, and two minors in gerontology and psychology. International travel is my passion, and I try to travel to new places as often as I can. So far, I have been to Greece, Italy, Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Iceland. I am excited to be traveling with World Endeavors and adding Australia and New Zealand to my list!
I will be completing an internship in occupational therapy and disability studies in Sydney, Australia, working with two different organizations. Creativity Inc. is an organization to support people with disabilities and their families. I will be working in the adult day program. Moving Mountains is a pediatric occupational and speech therapy clinic that provides services to children with various challenges, allowing them to participate to their fullest in everyday activities. I look forward to learning more about these areas of practice and obtain new knowledge and skills that I can apply to my future career as an occupational therapist.
As I complete this internship and combine my passions of travel and occupational therapy, I know that I will learn a lot, not only about occupational therapy, but also about myself. Whenever I travel, I look forward to discovering new ways of life in the various cultures that I am around, and I cannot wait to immerse myself in Australian culture! One of my favorite travel quotes is “In the world through which I travel I am endlessly creating myself;” and I know this will hold true with this new adventure I am about to begin!
