Travel Correspondent: Abigail, Italy, Week 3
During Abigail’s third week in Italy, she explored Florence and Rome. Here are some of the highlights from the past week!
Time is flying by already! After Italian lessons on Thursday, we walked around and explored some of Florence’s churches and free museums like this one. There is so much art and history this city.
Walking around one night this week we found a restaurant with an amazing looking apretivo bar that we had to try. It was such a good deal of unlimited apretivo and a drink for only 8 euros. Definitely a good dinner option here and fun Italian tradition!
Saturday my World Endeavors roommate and I decided to take the train to Rome and explore. With high speed trains only taking 1.5 hours to get there, it makes Rome a very easy day trip! We saw the Vatican City, Basilica, Sistine chapel, Colosseum, Ruins, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and many more! It was a packed day, but so much fun and we rewarded ourselves with some of the best gelato I have had yet!
Sunday we decided to take up a local spot in Florence, one of their public pools, to relax after our long day in a Rome. The weather was perfect and pool was very refreshing.
