Celebrating International Women’s Day!

International Women’s Day is a day to celebrate the many political, cultural, and economic achievements of women. In 1909, the first National Women’s Day was recognized across the United States. Today, celebrations extend globally as many countries recognize it as an official national holiday. Each year focuses on a new campaign, adapting to the growing and changing needs of women around the world.

If you’re passionate about making a difference in the lives of women on a global scale, you may want to consider becoming involved in one of World Endeavors’ Women’s Development projects. While International Women’s Day is celebrated once a year, our international volunteer opportunities run year-round. Volunteers work with local organizations to meet the unique challenges of the community. In the past, volunteers have assisted women’s shelters, social work agencies, and nonprofit organizations.

Currently, World Endeavors is able to place volunteers interested in Women’s Development in the following countries:

Costa Rica

Guatemala

India

Sri Lanka

Tanzania

Thailand

Put yourself out there! TM

World Endeavors believes that international travel has the power to change lives, broaden horizons, and deepen intercultural understanding. The world is undergoing rapid changes, with societies becoming more interconnected and environmentally aware; at the same time a more challenging global economy inspires in many a need to reach out and make a positive difference while seeking personal growth opportunities. There has never been a better time than now to travel abroad.
