Having meals each day with your host family will greatly improve your Spanish, and will provide better insight into what it is really like to live as a local in Quito. There is plenty to see and discover in the Ecuador’s capital city. The Old City (better known as Centro Histórico) is one of the largest, best-preserved historic centers in the Americas. In fact, the city of Quito was one of the first World Heritage Sites declared by UNESCO in 1978! Any afternoon could be spent wandering through one of Quito’s many museums, enjoying the art, culture, and history. Explore the restaurants and bars, relax in a favorite park, or take a short trip just outside Quito for amazing views of the city, the Andes Mountains, and more.
