Volunteering in Childcare Assistance

Volunteering in Childcare Assistance is a great way to make a difference in the lives of children who lack the resources and opportunities of others. World Endeavors volunteers in this field engage kids in activities like English lessons, health education, disease prevention, arts, crafts, and games.

Participants may also assist the staff at childcare centers by helping with cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry. Through compassion and education, volunteers empower children to change their world and change the lives they live. These volunteer projects may take place at children’s homes, or with local organizations that serve street children.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON A CHILDCARE ASSISTANCE VOLUNTEER PROJECT

Many World Endeavors volunteers are drawn to work with children, and it’s one of the most direct ways to make a difference in a host community. Volunteers in Childcare create positive experiences and serve as role models for underprivileged children in communities around the world. The children volunteers work with may be children whose parents are unable to care for them, or participants in day tutoring and care programs for low-income children. All of them benefit from the enthusiasm and care that volunteers bring to these projects.

HIGHLIGHTS & BENEFITS

The World Endeavors Childcare Assistance programs are a good match for volunteers who have experience or affinity for working with children. Participants at all experience and skill levels can find meaningful ways to contribute to these projects. The most important attributes for volunteers to have are patience, a playful spirit, and a sincere desire to be a positive role model and make a difference in children’s lives. Please note that the minimum duration for Childcare projects is 4 weeks.
