Our Values

World Endeavors was founded in 2002 with the idea that a growing number of people are looking for an opportunity to do something more meaningful abroad than vacation or be a tourist. World Endeavors specializes in culturally immersive programs, and our goal is to have a direct, positive impact on participants and their host communities by providing the opportunity for life-changing experiences.  

There are as many reasons to go abroad as there are people who go.  World Endeavors offers immersive study, intern, and volunteer abroad programs with a focus on immersion.  The term “immersion” is used frequently by organizations in our field.  We think that it is important to clarify what we mean in the context of each of our programs.  

For our students, this means that our study abroad programs provide a chance to study and live alongside local students.  In many of our programs, our participants may be the only foreign student in some of their classes or on their dormitory floors.  

Our internships are professionally immersive, meaning that participants work with local workers in a hands-on, professional setting.  We provide not only an opportunity for participants to gain work experience in their field, but also to learn about different business practices and cultures.  

For volunteers, we provide culturally immersive programs that give participants the opportunity to work and live in local communities.  Volunteers also gain an understanding of the social and environmental concerns facing a community through the eyes of its residents.
