Situated at a centuries old crossroad between India, China and Java, Thailand is a natural gateway not only to Southeast Asia, but also to the entire Pacific Rim. Fascinating, energetic, and friendly, Thailand is most importantly a gracious host to visiting international students. This is the setting for World Endeavors Semester in Thailand program at Mahidol University, one of Thailand's most prestigious institutions of higher learning.
Eligibility:
- Applicants must have completed secondary school, be currently enrolled in a university program, or already hold a university degree (or equivalent)
- GPA of 2.75
Pre-Departure Information:
Before students embark on their trip abroad, they will be provided a pre-departure guide that includes important details about their semester abroad. In addition, students may contact World Endeavors any time prior to departure with questions.
Orientation:
After arriving in Thailand, students will be provided an orientation that will acquaint them with student life, the campus, and the surrounding area. As part of the orientation, students will participate in many fun activities including off-campus excursions.
Housing:
A fully furnished room at the International House includes air conditioning, personal bathroom, telephone, computer room with Internet access, laundry room, kitchen and dining area, lounge area with satellite and cable TV, common room, study room, day and night security guards, and room cleaning services twice a week. Housing is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. If all spaces are filled, alternative accommodations will be arranged. Usually students stay in shared apartment accommodations on our near campus. Some housing locations have the option of a bicycle rental.
Food:
Students can choose to eat in the campus Student Union that includes many food shops or visit any one of the numerous food markets and restaurants around the campus. Buying food in Thailand is convenient and affordable.
Academics:
The language of instruction for all courses is English. Experience with the Thai language is not required. Each student will take four courses for 3 credits each. Academic credit and transcripts will be issued by Mahidol University.

Academic credit and transcripts will be issued by Mahidol University after the successful completion of course requirements for the semester program. It is the student's responsibility to contact their academic advisor prior to the semester to ensure that courses taken while abroad are transferable to their home institution.

There are hundreds of courses offered each semester within a wide range of fields of study.
Participant Life:
Students are never lacking in diversions to enliven their social schedule, pique their intellectual interest and/or complement their studies. The campus houses various cultural and entertainment centers, and numerous social and cultural activities are held throughout the year, including dances, concerts, plays and movies. The student body has also formed many clubs centered around a variety of interests, whether artistic, cultural, political, religious, athletic or otherwise.
Activities:
There are a variety of entertainment events and activities organized by students, including dances, concerts, plays and movies, which are held in various venues around campus, including the Recreation Center in the Student Union complex.
