Eligibility: Participants should be between 18-30 years old and for most placements should have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate coursework. Relevant academic background and/or work experience is preferred but not required.

Before interns embark on their program, they will be provided a pre-departure handbook that includes important details about their experiences abroad. The pre-departure handbook includes general information about the host country, cultural information, interviewing tips, contact information, and much more. In addition to the handbook, participants may contact World Endeavors any time prior to departure with questions.

Orientation:

Interns will be given an orientation upon their arrival. The orientation will cover information about the Irish workplace, health and safety, transportation, and life in Ireland.

Housing:

Interns will live in single bedrooms in shared furnished apartments. The apartments are comfortable and conveniently located close to the placement or town center bus route.

Participant Life:

Once you get yourself acclimated to living in Ireland, there are many opportunities to enjoy the authentic Irish life. A typical work week is Monday to Friday from 8-5. On evenings and weekends, interns can explore the Irish countryside on mountain bikes, go hiking, take in a movie, or enjoy a cozy Irish pub or restaurant. Ireland is rich in history and activities. Interns will never find themselves at a loss for something to do in their spare time.

Internships can be arranged to last any length of time from two months to six months in length. If you wish to intern for longer than six months, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you. Participants can choose when they would like to start and the duration of their program. Start dates are flexible, but are based on the needs of the host company as well as the intern.

We encourage interns to apply as far in advance as possible. Generally it is best to submit your application at least 12 weeks prior to your intended start date, but exceptions can be made if the intern is willing to work with World Endeavors to expedite the enrollment process.
