If fashion is your passion, you can't find a more unique or exciting country for an internship in fashion than India.

Quickly rising on the international fashion scene, India is home to many new and groundbreaking designers.  From costume design for Indian films to the catwalk in Mumbai, there are myriad ways to get involved in this emerging industry.  Interns will be placed with an up-and-coming Indian designer, and will have the incredible opportunity to get first-hand knowledge of the field.  Travel to India with World Endeavors and take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Eligibility: It is helpful for interns to have some previous experience or coursework in fashion or design, although this is not required.  Be prepared to provide photos or examples of your previous work, if applicable.

Pre-Departure Information: Before participants embark, they will be provided a pre-departure handbook that includes important details about their internship abroad.  In addition, participants may contact World Endeavors any time prior to departure with questions.

Back_topOrientation:

After arriving in India, participants will be met at the airport and given an orientation.  Our director of programs in India will be available to provide support and answer questions throughout the duration of the internship.

Back_topHousing:

Housing assistance is provided.  Interns will be placed in apartment accommodations.

Short-term accommodations can be difficult to find.  We provide assistance to interns looking for housing during their stay in India.  Many options are available, including single and shared apartments.  Costs vary from one option to the next.  Our goal is to provide you guidance but also flexibility to ensure that you find housing that meets your needs and your budget.

World Endeavors offers internship placements in both Chennai and Mumbai.  The city in which you are eventually placed will depend on your internship field, previous experience, and local availability.  If you have a strong preference we will do what we can to place you in your city of choice but we cannot always guarantee a placement in a particular city.

Programs generally start on Monday of each week.  Participants can choose whne they would like to start and the duration of their internship program.  A typical program ranges from 3 to 4 months.  Check with World Endeavors for alternate dates or durations.


We encourage interns to apply as far in advance as possible.  Generally it is best to submit your application at least 12 weeks prior to your intended start date, but exceptions can be made if the intern is willing to work with World Endeavors to expedite the enrollment process.  To submit an application, download the application found on the sidebar of this page, or click on 'enroll' at the top right-hand corner of this page in order to apply online.
