internships in china
Build a truly unique resume and experience life in one of the world’s fastest growing economies: intern in China with World Endeavors! International interns in China not only gain experience in their professional fields, they also gain valuable insight into Chinese culture and business practices. World Endeavors offers professional internship placements in both Beijing and Shanghai, giving our interns the flexibility to choose the location that is right for them. Internships in Beijing Full of history both ancient and modern, Beijing offers interns a glimpse into China’s rich and tumultuous past. Bicycles mix with luxury cars on the city’s broad avenues, tourists mingle with old-timers in the city’s many parks, and international restaurant chains sit next to centuries-old noodle shops in this city of contrasts. Internships in Shanghai Shanghai, perched on the shores of the Huangpu River, is by some accounts home to almost a quarter of the world’s construction cranes. New buildings seemingly pop up overnight, and the residents of this youthful, outward-looking city welcome visitors from around the world. The World Endeavors Internship Guarantee When you are accepted into the World Endeavors internship program, that is our guarantee that we can find you an internship in your chosen field. You will work with a World Endeavors internship placement staff member who will get to know you, your academic background, work experience, special skills, and professional goals. We will then work to find an internship placement that is a good match for both you and the host organization.
Choose from a wide variety of fields in which to intern. If you have specific academic requirements or are interested in a field not listed below, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you. • Architecture • Cultural Exchange • Design • Event Management • Finance • Hospitality • Human Resources • International Relations • International Trade • IT • Law • Marketing • NGOs • Public Relations
Eligibility:
This program is open to current college students and graduates aged 18 and older. Interns do not need to speak Chinese but must speak English fluently. Related work experience is helpful but not required.
Pre-Departure Information:
The pre-departure handbook includes important information to prepare interns for their experience abroad. It includes general information about the host country, cultural information, interviewing tips, contact information, and more. In addition to the handbook, students may contact World Endeavors any time prior to departure with questions.
Orientation:
Upon arrival in China, interns are met at the airport and taken to their accommodations. They will receive an orientation that will acquaint them with the culture, the program, and the surrounding area. Once the placement begins, participants will receive an additional mini-orientation at their internship site focusing on opportunities and responsibilities.
Housing:
Participants will live in shared or single apartments near their internship sites. Apartments are fully furnished and have domestic appliances. Interns will provide their own bedding, which can be purchased quite affordably in China.
Participant Life:
Both Beijing and Shanghai offer numerous cultural and social activities for interns to enjoy. Interns can spend evenings and weekends sightseeing, traveling around China, enjoying traditional Chinese cuisine, or even singing karaoke!
Activities:
To help participants learn more about Chinese culture and integrate with the community, four hours of Chinese language instruction per week is included for all internship programs.
